In this day and age, we are over-medicated. It is too easy to treat the symptoms than it is to get to the root of the problem. Therefore, we subject ourselves to always wanting the quick fix and never solving the problem. Before we look for the next quick fix, we should slow down and decide that getting to the root of the problem is worth the time and effort.
When life gets tough doctors prescribe Prozac, when children are considered overactive, doctors prescribe Ritalin. Instead of taking the time to understand what is at the root of the issue, doctors prescribe medications that place patients in alter states. States that do not allow them to address the challenges in life; but run away from them.
Let’s stop treating the symptoms in lieu of finding out what is really wrong.
